Training & Development
The Digital Learning Hub (DLH) leads Asia Pacific University’s institution-wide professional learning and capability-building initiatives for academic and professional staff. Grounded in research-informed practice and aligned with the University’s strategic priorities, DLH’s training programmes integrate pedagogy, digital systems and emerging technologies to enhance teaching quality, streamline academic workflows, and continuously strengthen curriculum delivery and assessment practice.
Through structured workshops, accredited programmes, and sustained professional learning pathways, DLH equips educators and staff with the pedagogical expertise and digital fluency required to design effective learning experiences, make responsible use of generative artificial intelligence, and teach confidently in contemporary, digitally enabled environments.

DIGITAL SYSTEMS &
WORKFLOW ENABLEMENT
DLH supports academic and professional staff across APU in developing confidence and fluency with the University’s digital teaching infrastructure and day-to-day academic systems. This work focuses on enabling high-quality delivery at scale, ensuring that learning platforms, assessment processes and classroom technologies function as integrated, pedagogically informed environments rather than isolated tools.
Through targeted training, onboarding programmes and hands-on workshops, DLH helps staff streamline teaching operations while maintaining strong academic standards and responsible use of emerging technologies.
Master Faster Series
Master Faster is DLH’s flagship programme of focused, high-impact professional learning workshops designed to build practical capability with specific teaching tools and platforms. Delivered in flexible in-person and online formats, these sessions enable staff to develop confidence in Moodle workflows and advanced LMS features, digital content authoring tools such as Easygenerator, multimedia and visual resource creation, assessment and feedback technologies, and AI-enabled classroom applications.
Each workshop is designed as a hands-on learning experience, with participants leaving with ready-to-use materials and strategies that can be immediately applied in their teaching practice.
Smarter Academic Workflows
Learn efficient, AI-supported processes that reduce preparation time and streamline teaching tasks.
Focused, High-Impact Sessions
Short, targeted workshops that zero in on one tool or teaching challenge at a time.
Practice-Led Sessions
Hands-on workshops centred on real teaching contexts and live course development.
Pedagogy-First Orientation
DLH introduces new staff to APU’s teaching philosophy, which places students at the centre of learning design and integrates teaching methods, learning activities and assessment into coherent instructional experiences.
Staff are guided through APU’s pedagogical framework, P.R.I.M.E. (Personalised, Real-World, Innovative, Multi-Approach, Evaluative), which informs curriculum design and classroom practice across the institution.
Digital Ecosystem at APU
DLH ensures that new hires are fully oriented to the University’s digital teaching infrastructure, including APU’s mobile and web platforms, classroom scheduling systems, attendance tools, lecture capture workflows and collaborative environments.
Moodle & Learning Design
As part of onboarding, new academic staff are enrolled into two asynchronous DLH-developed courses:
Moodle 101, which introduces core LMS operations including course creation, activities, assessment and grading.
Fundamentals of Instructional Design, which focuses on learning design principles and alignment across teaching, activities and assessment.

Academic Essentials onboarding
DLH leads APU’s Academic Essentials Onboarding programme to ensure that newly appointed academic and professional staff enter the University with a strong foundation in its pedagogical philosophy, learning design expectations and digital teaching environment.
The onboarding programme is designed to familiarise new colleagues with APU’s learner-centred approach to teaching, core instructional frameworks and the digital systems that underpin classroom delivery and assessment. Expected outcomes include applying APU’s pedagogical principles, confidently using institutional digital tools, and accessing ongoing teaching support resources
Each workshop is designed as a hands-on learning experience, with participants leaving with ready-to-use materials and strategies that can be immediately applied in their teaching practice.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH &

DLH supports academic staff across APU in strengthening teaching quality and shared pedagogical practice. This work focuses on how learning experiences are designed and delivered, rather than simply on the tools used to support them. Through targeted professional learning and collaborative curriculum initiatives, DLH works with educators to develop effective digital and blended learning designs, redesign assessment for the age of AI, and enhance feedback and formative assessment practices.
DLH also advances inclusive and accessible learning design, promotes academic integrity in digital environments, and supports the responsible use of AI in teaching and assessment. Alongside these efforts, the Hub fosters scholarly approaches to teaching through workshops on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and supports curriculum delivery enhancement across programmes and faculties.
